10-Hour deal details
Deal is for 10 hours of flight time only in A.T.C.'s Cessna 182.
Fuel is not included. Potomac Airfield has a fuel Club Program. They charge $18 per month and you pay $0.05 to $0.10 over their cost (currently $4.98 per gallon. The 182 burns 11 gallons per hour on average.
Only licensed pilots may fly solo in the 182. A minimum 1-hour check out is required for all pilots with 182 time. Pilots with no 182 may require up to 10 hours dual to be cleared to fly solo.
In order to fly out of VKX (Potomac Airfield) a special airspace clearance is required. You start the clearance process when you set up your fuel card. After finishing the process you will be given a PIN number which will allow you to file an FRZ flight plan which is required to depart or enter the airspace around Washington DC. The cost for the fingerprinting is around $35.
Renters insurance is required for all pilots flying the 182 solo. The policy costs $360 for the year through Avvemco. Having these policies carried by the pilots is why you can get 10 hours in a 182 at the price we offer it. The hull value of the policy should be $25,000.
If you use most of the 10-hour block getting checked out we have other discounts and programs to keep your flying costs low.
The aircraft may be taken overnight but during the week there will be no overnight fees. Weekend trips will have to be scheduled well in advance.
Our primary concern, after safety, is having the aircraft available for all of our customers. We strive to ensure the aircraft use can be fair and will do everything possible to accommodate all requests...within reason.
